About Bowker Hall

Bowker Hall in Oak Bay is only available for booking by Girl Guide and Girl Scout groups.  Bowker Hall is within busing distance to all the downtown sights and attractions. 

Crests are $3.50 each and purchased with your rental fees.  Do not leave crest payment at the Hall.


Fully Equipped Kitchen contains:

  • Dishes and cutlery

  • Cooking utensils

  • Refrigerator, stove, microwave

  • Small appliances: toaster, kettle, coffee maker

  • Grocery storage


Please be prepared to take home your garbage, recycling and compost unless you are busing, in which case you can ask for an exemption through the booking system.

Sleeping is accommodated on the floor in the large hall, with an additional small meeting room upstairs - maximum 24.  Bring your own sleeping bags and sleeping pads.

Audio Visual Equipment

Some equipment is available - details are sent with the booking confirmation.


Bathroom Facilities

Includes 2 toilets and wash basins. Sorry, no showers.



Free, large parking lot on site near the building.  Across the parking lot from the police and fire departments.


Grocery Stores

Fairway Market on Oak Bay Avenue, within four blocks


Neighbourhood Activities

  • Bowker Hall is located next to a park with a playground and lots of green space for outdoor games.  The park is well used by local soccer and baseball leagues.

  • To the west is the Bowker Creek corridor park with a walking path which leads past Oak Bay High School to the Oak Bay Recreation Centre (10 minute walk).

  • The Rec Centre offers a pool, showers, ice skating rink, indoor tennis courts, snack bar and coffee shop.

  • Willows Beach (ocean) is within walking distance.


Transportation from the BC Ferries at Swartz Bay (Sidney)

See BC Ferries Connector operated by Wilson's Group ( or BC Transit ( for information on public buses from Swartz Bay to downtown Victoria, then to Oak Bay via BC Transit bus.
