| Jubilee
Camp is a
beautiful site located west of Victoria on several hectares of densely
forested land. The property contains two salmon bearing creeks,
sometimes babbling, sometimes rushing, but always soothing, a wealth of
wildflowers and native plants and a challenging access to trails
leading to the ocean. |

Features:
General:
- All
water for drinking, cooking, dishwashing, handwashing and toothbrushing
must be
treated.
- Garbage
and recycling is to be removed on completion of camp.
- Make
sure patrol boxes are clean
and dry at the end of camp
(bring towels for this purpose only). Report any missing items to a
Camp Advisor
- Store
all food in tightly closed containers.
- A
blanket fire permit is issued by Shirley Fire Deparment and is posted
inside the telephone "booth". This does not apply if there is a fire
ban in effect.
- A
fire extinguisher must be mounted in the cooking shelters.
- Hang
wet tents, notify the next group or return to put them away when dry.
- Replenish
any wood used.
- Jubilee
crests are available at Guide House
in Victoria

Five
sites offer a variety of camping experiences depending on the size and
experience of the group.

Kirby
|
Site holds up to 36
campers plus staff
and is wheelchair accessible. It contains a combination cooking/dining
shelter with woodburning stove and a permanent LDP. There are 4 outdoor
lats on site and a campfire pit with benches. There are 8 patrol boxes,
9 ridge pole tents and gadget wood if needed. |

holds up to 36 campers plus staff. It contains two new cooking/dining

campfire pit with benches. There are 7 patrol boxes, 9 ridge pole tents
and gadget wood if needed. |

Gateway
|
A
smaller site particularly good for smaller Pathfinder or Sr. Branches
units. It is open with a small shelter. Water must be carried from
Kirby/Bridges sites and 4 outdoor lats are shared with Guelph Grove. |

Grove
|
A
smaller woodsy site particularly good for smaller Pathfinder or Sr.
Branches units. Water has to be carried from Kirby/Bridges sites and 4
outdoor lats are shared with Gateway. |

Tad's
Ridge
|
Lightweight
backpacking site with no amenities 1 km from the main camp. No open
fires allowed. |
Things
to do and see:
- Sheringham
Point Lighthouse - 5 km
- Point-No-Point,
a lovely beach - 7 km
- French
Beach Provincial Park - 5.5 km
- Ocean
Beach - hike through Tad's Ridge following the flagged trail
- Swimming
"hole" on site, will need waterfront personnel
- Tad's
Ridge, if not booked, 1 km uphill from main site, no open fires
